Don’t give up on yourself

Yesterday, as I was sorting through totes of stuff, as my family and I prepares to move, I found old notebooks, folders, papers, books, lists, planners, and a trail of “I was trying sio hard to be organized, to move the needle forward in some small way, to accomplish my goals and to share truth and ways forward with others.” I stood at the tote of dreams that had slowly been realized, while others are still in progress / process (aka this blog) and I realized how proud of myself I am.

I am proud of the woman I’ve become. I’m proud of the brave girl who kept going in the face of tragedy and adversity, when giving up or permanently numbing would have been such a viable option.

When you look back over the last 5 years, can you see the stepping stone of your successes. The complete picture may not be filled in yet but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t accomplished so MUCH MORE than you may realize.

What victories can you celebrate so far in 2019? The victory may be much smaller than your ego would have you admit but if you close your eyes for a moment imagine something that you’ve followed through with, accomplished, stood your ground about, loving let go, a way of being that you have welcomed or blessed & released...any or all of these are glorious and worthy of celebration.

As we embark on the second half of 2019, are you willing to think about how you want to feel in December 2019? Proud, accomplished, elated, like you showed up for yourself?

💫

What steps do you need to take right now, starting today in order to move closer toward how you want to feel at the end of this year?

The truth is we often underestimate how much we can accomplish in 6-12 months when we focus and align our action with our values and results in which we seek.

It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you are moving forward in a way that honors yourself.

Keep it simple.

Do 1 thing.

Start today.

Celebrate your progress.

And above all else, PLEASE know that you are worthy of success on your terms, your way, as imperfectly as it may come about.
All love,

S

Dear Granny, Thank you for loving me...

Dear Granny,

Thank you for loving me well, seeing me, doing all that you could to protect me and understanding that in the end, you could not protect me from the lessons that I had to learn. It’s been almost 5 years since you went home and almost 5 years since I begrudgingly allowed my heart to go ahead and break open.

My Journey to Self Love

A year ago, I took one the bravest step I had ever taken. I know how to go forward, push forward, fake it, faith it, warrior on, get it done. Life taught me how to master the game of pretend. I pretended looking ahead was the only option until the knock at the door of my soul became so loud I could no longer ignore it. Read more
